  • Totaled the Stinktiva

Got t-boned in the Stinktiva today. My own stupid fault. :banghead: On big pain-killers right now, but aside from nine staples in my head, i think i am ok. Car is in indeterminate condition, but ambulance guy says it is totaled. Will have pictures tomorrow. What should I try to recover from it before it gets junked? Right side mirror, stereo,...?

If you have someplace to store stuff and plan to get another Festy, completely strip the body of all body parts, the engine, trans, etc. etc. It has now become your parts car.

Unfortunately, I can't blame drugs or alcohol because I was stone cold sober. (always am, behind the wheel) I was, however, under the influence of stupidity, and that is often fatal.

Can't wait to see the report and find out what happened.

I got a moderate concussion, and I was either unconscious or not storing memories after the crash. I "woke up" in the ambulance.

I just went out to the crash site, and it looks like I got t-boned on the passenger side.

I found a dried pool of my blood on the pavement.

Hope your head is better. My first Festy went down that same way. T-boned and got a cut on my head. Festy's dont do well in side hits.

Festivas are cheap, and so are bike helmets!! They are a DIY low tech "side curtain airbag system." Keeps your brains from smashing too hard into B pillars, side glass and perhaps the pavement if your side glass got smashed and you're skidding on left side sheet metal!

Glad you seem to have survived with minimal damage. Take care of yourself and see the doc if you begin to have any problems potentially brain related.

                            Here is the damage:

p.s. anyone in the austin area want 15" steelies with very sticky tires with about 50% tread? Spacers included...

OUCH! Glad that you weren't seriously hurt!
Almost looks like it is still drivable - not a flat tire or even any lights. Plenty of usable parts but I think you can forget about salvaging the rare passenger side mirror.
                              Get Well soon!
