  • LED instrument cluster light mod

I've had issues with the cluster lights on the right side of my cluster since it had 12K miles on the car. I saw an LEDstrip at Walmart that looked like it would fit the area that the bulbs fit into. They are 8", Blue and cost about 13.00 per pair. I hooked them (actually one of them) to the standard light connection so the dimmer still works. I'm running them on low (dimmed to the minimum).
Attached is a link to the video I made last night. The quality is not to my standards but it will give you an idea of what is involved in the mod.

The directory has 2 videos. 1 in the car of the dimming action, the other of the assembly of the cluster. I call it the BeBandit LED light/gauge cluster mod.

It was debuted at Carolina Spring FestivaL Saturday night

I bought those lights a while back with the same plans, and never got around to doing it. I'm glad it works that way though. Thanks for sharing.

I just cant use to how dim they are. I am use to the newer gauge cluster lights being brighter.

Its a night and day difference, I have mine on the lowest setting on the dimmer and its still pretty bright. It doesnt distract me at all though

Nice! And a lot cheaper than buying LED bulbs bright enough. This one goes on my list . Did you keep the regular bulb behind the ODO?

The only ones I replaced was the upper ones. Mine had 4. I now run it on full dim most of the time. I'm experimenting with some other things for appearance.

I always liked the appearance of blue light in clusters. I'd just solder up some of my own blue LEDs, though.
