  • The Dean"V8 Festiva" inspired 88L

This little 88L Festiva was inspired by our late and good friend Dean "V8 Festiva". As I said at Deans memorial service I had never met Dean in person but had spent many hours talking to him about these wonderful little mechanical miracals on wheels. I discussed in great detail all my plans for my Festy. He gave me countless tips and advice and everything I said was "cool" or "that sounds awesome" so I wanted to share with the rest of the community. He always gave me positive feedback and told me to go for it no matter what it was because he enjoyed seeing unique projects. I said OK, let me get to work on that.

Well I got the call one day about what had happened, so I stopped to go pay my respects to one great "awesome" person who gave so much to so many. Then when I got home in his honor I started to finish the project. I kept looking up and asking Dean if he thought it was ever going to come together. Oddly enough I still got those same little hints and ideas as when Dean I used to talk. So with all that being said, here is my 1988 Festiva L.

I still have a lot of little things I want to do and some other upgrades that Dean told me about, but I didn't think it turned out to bad considering I have done everything to date myself. I hope you enjoy it, especially Smedely since she too kept me going. Thank you for allowing me in as a friend!

The 2001 Hyundai Tiberon wing is in Deans honor. At first I didn't like it, but it has grown on me.

Have to say, usually I don't like tinting on a car because it usually doesn't fit and looks thrown in. But this one has it part of the overall structure and really sets it off. Love the paintjob, and the interior looks fantastic. And beauty rings as well!

Excellent job, and I agree.. a future FOTM here..

I think it looks sharp - you should paint the rings to match as well I think that would look real sharp

We need more and larger pics off all mods you have done

I will post more later, I promise. I still have some little things I want to do then I will do a complete write up on the whole thing. I may enter it as an FOTM in the June bunch. Everything should be completed by the end of the month. My vote goes to Casper this month, because that little car has some history too. I wish I could have known DJ better, but I think he too would have liked this one.

Thank you very much for all the positive comments, I am a proud Festy owner.
