I would start with checking the main power fuses and fusible links.
Sounds like you lost a main power feed.

The three fusible links on the drivers strut tower are what econo mentioned. Even if they look good they may be bad. Check the connections and everything there as well, its a fairly common problem. If you go to a parts store, get the cartrige fusible links (pink/green) with a clear top so you can tell when their burned through, they will plug right in to the festiva fusible links box.

Also, put your location in your profile and you might find that some nut that caries 20 or 30 or said fusible links around in their trunk lives close! (Yes, I have at least 20 in the back of my car )

        Same issue?

I think I may be having the same problem. I was wondering if I should have power to the wire between the battery and the fusible links. I imagine I should and if not this wire may be bad or have a bad connection.
Let me explain what happened at the start of my problem. I tried to start the car at -44C. I had full power as normal until I turned the key, no I have nothing. Am I correct in assuming that the extra draw on such a cold start could have blown a connection that was corroded but working well enough when warm?

        Oh I live in Saskatchewan.

THis is what they look like.
Make sure you get the ones with the long slot between terminals.
There are one that have a short slot and don't fit as well.

The terminals that the links sit in are often just as much of a problem. Make sure yours aren't corroded.

                        I do what festivaWes does!
Every time I go to the JY I pick them up!
Some people don't want used fuse cartridges so I generally explain where to get them and what they look like.
I've never had an issue with the JY ones and have plenty of spares and have sent more than a few out to other members and have given them away at meets.

x2 just make sure to get the ones with the deep notch. I had a bunch of spares with the shallow notch in my car and one day I blew the main.. I thought my spares were gonna save me.. no luck, at the time I didn't realize the ones with the shallow notch wouldn't work. Luckily I was in the auto-parts store parking lot!

stefan, I did the same thing!
If you break the plastic housing off the cartridges ceramic fuse holder carefully they will insert and work fine!
But the fuse is exposed to the elements and I will not be surprised when it goes.
The one is still working after 3-4 months!
Got the long notch replacement in the ash tray waiting for when it goes.
