  • Some upgrades for Linda Blu

First day Ive had off in about a month. Getting to do my favorite thing, adding some upgrades. Im starting to put a dent in the pile on the upgrade table. Some pics from the ranch.

    Mystery upgrade below:

Well Im all done. I swear running the hose up through the car for the rear window washer is the toughest upgrade to do. Ive done it three times now and I hate it. You can stick a fish wire in a hole and it goes into another diminsion in some other world. There must be a maze of channels through the back of the car. One thousand worm holes to different worlds. I finally got one wire to return from the unknown and got the hose ran. What a pain !! Thank goodness its done and it all works. Now to tend to my bleeding fingers.

I feel your pain bro. I had the same trouble and thought I had it handled but then the hose leaked fluid from the top when I tried the washer out. I had to buy some new hose from the hardware store and replace the old stuff. Good luck tending to your open wounds.

^Ding, Ding, Ding.... we have a winner on the mystery upgrade. If you dont have a cargo light latch and want to just use your cargo light manually just plug it in like normal and add this ground jumper where the latch/switch would hook up.

Had a little more time this morning to work on the car. Have to be at work at midnight, getting ready for bed now at 2 pm, weird hours. Wish I could work on the festies all day for a living. Got the power mirrors wired up, added some chrome bling to the door handles and window crank ( need one more pair of the chrome window cranks.) Have you seen seat belts with the black plastic ends. I only have one other festiva with this feature, not sure what they are for ??

I believe those black plastic ends were added as a "safety feature"... I don't really know what they do though.

Casper had them on though... And my uncles 92 had them on too...?

Cargo light latch in. Got it today and it was in the car in 10 minutes. Wouldnt have taken so long except I had to clean it up and lube it real good. That was a hard item to find. Please excuse the noisely hatch strut, dont know whats up with that .

they were a safety recall. They reduce the possiblity of the tang (male part of seatbelt latch) flexing over, causing the clasp to unlatch the tang, releasing the seatbelt. A small number of incidents of unlatching occured during side-impact collisions.

^ You'd think they would have been on all later festivas then ?? The ones I pictured are on a 1990. ??

the recall was on all 90-93 Festivas with passive restraints (motorized seatbelts).

I did a dozen or so when I was in the dealer.

actually i remember getting a recall notice for my '88; for the same thing i think; never did get the recall done!

I may have to get a cargo light and some struts off of...something....for my hood. Going to the Pick-a-part Saturday to see what i can find!
