    Here is his entry again

Here is my entry for this month. I am entering my 91L and it has come from a very special place. This car was setting in what once was known as Festiva Row on a farm in an undisclosed location in NC. It had seen 4 plus years of setting in the woods out in the elements. I brought it home and virtually dis-assembled the car and completely cleaned the shell, interior and more to clean up and evaluate the cars actual condition. I learned just how resilient a Festiva can be. The interior took some time to clean but surprisingly came back very nicely. The body has held up really well too, there were minor rust issues that may have very well existed before it was parked out there. The paint came back very well leaving me only the roof and a few small areas to attend to. The engine fired and ran with minimal effort .
Since it’s arrival I have installed an GL interior, replaced all the tune up components such as cap, rotor, plugs and wires, new air filter, replaced fuel filter, Pulled sending unit and cleaned the sock for the fuel pump, replaced almost all the brake system components such as master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders, rear brake hardware and lining, and the front calipers and pads. I have also flushed the cooling system and replaced a weak and seeping radiator. I was fortunate enough to find a passenger side fender and hood that had the same color of paint for the 90 and 91’s to bolt on. The hood had some clear blemishes so I painted the kind of sport stripe on the hood to cover it. It also has a Mazda intermittent wiper switch with the option to add cruise if I find the pieces. I added the Mazda insert to the horn button because the original ford one was curling up. It now has the Capri/Tracer dome light up grade and a rear cargo light that I need to find power for since I don’t have the switch wiring in the latch. I have decided to go ahead and run my 13” Toyota corolla wheels with 4 new tires and beauty rings since the 12’s for my alloys are getting costly and this is a “DD” car.
This was a fun little build and it will keep doing little things as I get time. Most all my Facebook friends have watched the progression and have made a lot of very nice comments. I would like to thank Smedley so much for letting me bring this one back to the surviving again. It had a grim outlook a few months back, but I can say I am much happier to see it made it. I can honestly say a Festiva has to be in really sad shape from rust, total loss damage or something horrific to not have the ability to save them. This car has been a true testament to just how durable and resilient these cars really are.

Thank yall for the votes and the congrats. Here are some pics with all his madness convoy numbers and daily driver look. So far he has been an awesome car and has been getting 47 and 48mpg since I put him back on the road. He has been to two meets so far this year. He is mild mannered around town, but has plenty of pep when you get him on the highway. Once again thank yall for the support and the incentive to keep building more of them.
