    My Festiva story

I became very interested in saving gas and low emissions naturally caring about the environment being a surfer right when gas was sky high I got motivated and started looking into all the small cars out there geos , tracers and such but a Festivas character, open roominess and Mpg were a combo others didn't seem to have . Making my decision on a car I started to look on craigslist eBay classifieds.... nothing. On my way to work one morning I was passing through an intersection and a small car caught my peripherals and I thought no way one right here under my nose. It had only been the second day I was looking for one and I went to work all day thinking about it. I got off and went to the home and found it was an 88lx and left a note at the owners door. I had to go back the next day to try again to contact the owner and they were home a Latin couple that didn't speak much English after debates and figuring things out about the car i came the next day and picked it up for my ripoff price of 700$ I know I rushed it I just wanted a festiva bad ahaha. I brought it home and went through the bucket of bolts and small parts that it came with(just wonderful) the tranny cross member was also hanging and a fuel leak, also I was told a clutch was put in and tranny needed to be bolted back. Anyhow that night figuring out where everything went and doing basic tune up on liquids the car was running at 1:00 am in my garage ! this was only the beginning , I worked on the car for the next month repairing frame rust behind fenders passenger and driver as well as removing the windsheild and installing a new cowel and front seats 4 hrs each of resolve and bissel machine ! I then proceeded to do my first body and paint job with spray paint and it came out great for 45$ as youll see below . Things became much easier after finding FF.com and got me more addicted or should I say infected with the festiva sickness. I had tried to contact some close florida members with no luck, one day i got a pm from Eurotiva asking if i was down to meet up with him at local drag strip i was more then ready to meet another festiva owner . After meeting greg he encouraged me and others to go to FM3 which i was nervous because my car had carb motor with 350,000 miles on it ! As most of you know his encouraging words lead to the successful FL convoy of 8 round trip to FM3. After FM3 and driving gregs car i had my mind set on a swap and dilligently began to search for a swap canidate and i came to the B8-ME for its plug and play no modification bolt in type capability. After months of serching for a complete protege dx with no luck and much frustration talks between me and greg lead to me purchasing his comlete motor tranny clutch set up! this was only one piece to my puzzle because i was swapping a carb car sooooo... greg let me steal the efi "auto" harness wiper tank and efi dash off the betty boop car we scored in miami and i got some here and there pieces froma local junkyard, as well as my inline fuel pump from hofficergrove. Over the past week and a half with work and school I completed my first engine harness swap with no major complications. If you want power and an easy swap B8 all dayy I love my car and get many compliments and looks frequently

Also the latin couple I despise now completely played me I found out and talked to there neighbor that GAVE THEM THE CAR !! ahhhhhh- he had use it to tow behind his Rv and guy before him lived in Melbourne fl and used as dd for couple months and before that my festy was towed behind a school bus for a company that delivered them based in PA , four guys would drive four buses and tow festy behind one and then pile in the festy and drive back to base.

Thanks to all i have bought parts from and or have answered my questions along the way

So, for about the same price as a fully-loaded 1993 Ford Festiva, you could also wield the power to obliterate a small village in the blink of an eye.

Nope I quit. Screw festiva's who likes them anyway. Maybe I'll just get it stuck in the mud and run it over.

I can barely joke about that
