  • replacing every bulb with LED - can anybody give me bulb part numbers?

I am thinking I am going to replace every bulb in the festiva with LED bulbs , I was wondering if anybody had any quick sources for cheap LED bulbs etc that would work... LED technology has been around for ages and is cheap , so should not be expensive unless a company is trying to milk the demand.

My biggest problem is not knowing what the bulb part numbers , wondering if any of these would work.
Upgrade your vehicle map, vanity, and dashboard lighting with our LED mini wedge bulbs. Shop standard or CAN Bus bulbs in various color and white options!

I see a video on youtube somebody bought a kit for a tacoma has like 24 led on a board to replace his domelight which was just a single interior light. I liked the results.

i've seen CREE led bulbs on ebay, they have like a mini projector plus about 5-12 LED lights..

not sure on cost but i think these would be quite ideal for any application on the cars.

replacing every bulb with LED - can anybody give me bulb part numbers?

I have replaced my running lights, brake lights and dome light with LEDs. A few years of trial and error led me to SMD towers for most small lamps and CREE emitters for the tails.

Favorite source of mine is dx.com

        Bulb sizes:
        Front and rear corner 194
        Turns and 3rd brake 1156
        Brake 1157
        Interior Dome 31mm Festoon

I'll post from my computer links to my current bulbs and some prospective options.

From experience of both bhazard and I, something in the running light circuit of the 1157 bulbs used for brake lights makes the LEDs burn out their running light function. Not a problem if you don't mind having only the two bottom corner 194s and the license plate lights as your only rear running lights. I just got the brightest red 194s I could fit in there.

I forgot about the dome light. I have an Escort light in mine and use the 30 bulb LED panel from Autozone. It works great.

You can get rolls of tiny leds 5m for 5 bucks shipped. You dont need two 5w leds 194 in license plate get some airhose for fishies slide a lenth of leds inside boom waterproof strips you can go nuts with all over

A lot of direct replacement led use almost same wattage as regulsr bulbs, no power savings and cost more. If you do soldering you can make more custom looks and do ambient light effect inside, undoor hood lighting on a switch when you open it, etc. Not tacky, utilitarian of course

good idea thanks , ill look into prices to see what I can find and options. Im not really wanting to spend much time on it atm but might change my mind and keep that in mind. I like things sleek and hidden so ill have to see what i can come up with.

I am planning on eventually removing all the interior pieces and carpet , headliner , probably wont touch the dash or atleast I havent planned anything for it yet. Then fiberglass over any ribs , holes etc to make a nice smooth appealing appearance that transitions the way I would like and some high quality truck bed coating over the glass , but first I need to remove the panels and see how the wiring is and think it out for future access if I follow through with the idea

This is what I am going to go with this is all interior lights replaced. I'll hold off on exteriors because they all work , except i havent looked at the license plate one so I dont know about that one. I will probably replace all the exteriors except for the headlights since I dont think ill find any LED's that will give me exceptional visibility. But ill see how I like the LED's on the interior before I do anything with the exterior.

The only visible bulb is the dome light , the others are all dash indicators which look like normal in the clusters.

I like this thread. I am cheap. I will probably never have to buy any LED bulbs. I always remove bulbs and fuses from wrecks as long as they are still clear. But this gives me an idea for the one mismatched bulb color on my car. My cigar lighter. You can check my thread for the install. Presently it's a small white bulb with a blue plastic cover. I need to have it orange to match the cluster, dash clock and radio. Anyone ever heard of small orange LED bulbs?

I'd be interested in orange LEDs as well.

Looks like orange is considered to be LED amber.
