Yeah you have to trim off some of the material from the bottom plastic that would overhang the door. Try mounting it then you'll see how much you have to trim.

I think hatchback was the one who found this out. I might be wrong though.

wiring is identical, it plugs straight up to the festiva door plugs. Use a switch from a festiva or an earlier 626. The bottom two screws to the mirrors line up close enough to work, and it would be possible to redrill the top hole and use that too, but with the bottom ones in I didn't find it necessary. The only other mod necessary is cutting off the bottom half inch or so of the plastic housing, and how much to cut will be determined by just lining the mirrors up and marking them. I used a hacksaw to cut it. Here's a couple pics, if ya got anymore questions just ask them in this thread and I'll answer

          No festiva for me ATM...

If you watch this video , you will see how much I cut off on mine .
I used a Dremel cut off wheel .

How much you trim off will determine how close they fit at the bottom edge of the mirror , where it buts up against the top of the door .

And like Htchbck said , they plugged into the factory wiring , that was in the door , and the wiring was there behind the switch cover , just pop it out and plug in the mirror switch .
